KyaChat Help
Step-by-step help with your account, groups, channels, bots, privacy and notifications.
Getting started
Create a KyaChat account
You need your name, an email address and a password. No phone number.
Sign in on a new device
Your chats are kept with your account, so they appear on every device you sign in on.
Reset a forgotten password
We email you a way to choose a new password. Choosing one signs you out everywhere else.
Groups, channels and bots
Create a group
A group is a chat where everyone can write. It can have up to 1,000 members.
Create a channel
In a channel only you and your admins post. Everyone else reads, views and reacts.
Invite people with a link
Anyone with the link can join. Replace it and the old link stops working at once.
Create a bot and get its token
Bots are KyaChat accounts run by your code. You create them in KyaChat Web.
Organise chats into folders
Folders keep a busy chat list tidy. You can have up to 20, and they are the same on every device.
Privacy and safety
Choose who can find and message you
Two settings decide who can reach you. Both are in Settings > Privacy.
Block someone
Blocking stops one person reaching you, without them being told.
Report a message, person, group or channel
Reports go to the KyaChat team. The person you report is not told who reported them.
Turn on app lock
App lock keeps your chats private if someone else picks up your phone or computer.
See your devices and sign out
Every device signed in to your account is listed, so you can sign out the ones you no longer use.
