How do I create an account?
Open KyaChat Web or the app and choose Create account. Enter your name, your email address and a password of at least 8 characters. We email you a code to confirm the address. Step by step.
Can I use one account on several devices?
Yes. Sign in with the same email address on your phone, your computer and in the browser. Your chats stay in step on all of them.
Is KyaChat free?
Yes. KyaChat is free to download and use.
Signing in
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, enter your email address and choose Forgot password?. We email you a link to choose a new one.
How do I sign out a device I no longer use?
Open Settings > Devices. You see every phone, computer and browser signed in to your account, and you can sign out any of them.
Notifications
How do I turn on notifications in the browser?
In KyaChat Web open Settings > Notifications and turn them on, then allow notifications when your browser asks.
How do I stop notifications from one chat?
Open the chat’s details and mute it.
Safety
How do I block someone?
Open their profile and choose Block. They can no longer message you. You can unblock them in Settings. More about blocking.
How do I report a message, person, group or channel?
Open the message menu, or the details of the person, group or channel, and choose Report. Pick a reason and add details if you like. You can block the person at the same time.
Are my messages end-to-end encrypted?
No. Every connection uses HTTPS, and messages are stored on our servers so they reach all your devices and can be searched. Read more about privacy.
Your account
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings > Delete account and confirm with your password or with a code we email you.
How do I change who can find or message me?
Open Settings > Privacy.
Bots and developers
How do I create a bot?
In KyaChat Web open Settings > Bots. The developer pages explain the rest.
