Getting started

Create a KyaChat account

You need your name, an email address and a password. No phone number.

Create your account

  1. Open KyaChat Web or the KyaChat app and choose Create an account.
  2. Enter your name: this is what people see.
  3. Enter your email. Any email address works, and it is what you sign in with.
  4. Choose a password of at least 8 characters. A short sentence is easy to remember.
  5. Choose Create account. By creating an account you agree to the Terms and the Privacy Policy.

Confirm your email address

We email you a 6-digit code. Enter it and choose Confirm. If it has not arrived after a few minutes, check your spam folder or choose Resend code.

Until your address is confirmed you can chat with people you already share a chat with, join by invite link and create private channels, but you cannot message new people or start public channels.

Next steps

  • Add a photo, a bio and an @username in Settings > Edit profile, so people can find you.
  • Get the apps for your other devices from Download. You sign in with the same account everywhere.

Sign in on a new device

Your chats are kept with your account, so they appear on every device you sign in on.

Choose who can find and message you

Two settings decide who can reach you. Both are in Settings > Privacy.

Create a group

A group is a chat where everyone can write. It can have up to 1,000 members.
