Create a group

A group is a chat where everyone can write. It can have up to 1,000 members.

Create the group

  1. Choose New message (the pencil button above your chat list), then New group.
  2. Add people by name or @username, then choose Next. You can also skip this and invite people later.
  3. Give the group a name and, if you like, a photo.
  4. Choose Create group.

Make admins

Open the group’s details, find the person in Members and choose Make admin. Admins can add and remove members, manage the invite link and delete any message. Only the owner can change admins.

Add people later

In the group’s details choose Add members, or share an invite link. People who set Who can message me to My contacts can be added only by their contacts.

Invite people with a link

Anyone with the link can join. Replace it and the old link stops working at once.

Create a channel

In a channel only you and your admins post. Everyone else reads, views and reacts.

Organise chats into folders

Folders keep a busy chat list tidy. You can have up to 20, and they are the same on every device.
