Create a bot and get its token

Bots are KyaChat accounts run by your code. You create them in KyaChat Web.

Create the bot

  1. Open KyaChat Web, then Settings > Bots.
  2. Choose Create a bot, enter a Bot name and an @username (5 to 32 letters, numbers and underscores, starting with a letter).
  3. Copy the token. KyaChat shows it once, so keep it somewhere safe: anyone with it controls the bot.

Use the token

Call the Bot API with it, for example https://api.kyachat.org/bot<token>/getMe. The developer guide and the Bot API reference explain the rest.

Rotate or revoke

In Settings > Bots, choose Rotate token if the token may have leaked: the old one stops working at once. Revoke bot deletes the bot for good. You can have up to 20 bots.

Create a channel

In a channel only you and your admins post. Everyone else reads, views and reacts.

Create a group

A group is a chat where everyone can write. It can have up to 1,000 members.

Choose who can find and message you

Two settings decide who can reach you. Both are in Settings > Privacy.
