Add them to your group
- Open @welcomebot or @moderationbot in the Bot Directory and choose Add to group.
- Pick your group and tick Make it an admin. They need it to keep new members read-only, remove messages and mute people.
- In the group, send /settings to set each one up with buttons.
WelcomeBot: welcome, rules and I agree
- Write your own greeting with /setwelcome. {name} becomes the person’s name and {group} the group’s name.
- Add rules with /setrules. Anyone can show them with /rules.
- Turn on the I agree gate in /settings: new members can read the group but cannot post until they tap I agree under the rules.
- Say goodbye when someone leaves with /setgoodbye.
ModerationBot: keep the group tidy
- It removes floods, repeated messages and links from people who joined recently, plus words and links you block with /filter (allow a site with /allowlink).
- Each removal is a warning. After 3 warnings the member is muted for an hour, unless you change the limit and the action in /settings.
- Admins reply to a message with /warn, /mute 1h, /kick or /ban, adding a reason if they like. /slowmode 30s slows the group down.
- Members reply to a message with /report to tell the admins.
The moderation log
Start a private chat with ModerationBot. As a group admin you then receive every action it takes and members’ reports there, with buttons to act on them.
